I’m Liyana Hanif - a graphic designer, art director and creative strategist.

I've been navigating the vibrant world of graphic design for over ten years. After scoring my degree in Graphic Arts from the University of Southampton back in 2015, I've been on this exhilarating journey, mixing creativity with strategy to make brands pop.

My journey began as a graphic designer at Brunei Creative Agencies, where I immersed myself in crafting marketing campaigns and fine-tuning social media strategies. The transition to Creative Director at Progresif marked a significant chapter in my career. It's been an incredible experience leading a team brimming with creative talent. Our collaboration has led to a slew of successful marketing campaigns, showcasing our shared creative energy and vision. I'm particularly proud of the recognition I received for my work on Progresif Magazine, which earned me my first Design Award at the Brunei Design Week Awards in 2021.

But here's the thing - I believe design is more than just making things look good. It's about creating a vibe, a connection, and that's why I'm super passionate about the creative community in Brunei. That passion led me to co-found #JustBruneians in 2020, an initiative that's all about celebrating and elevating our local Brunei artists and ceatives, showing off how art and design shape our culture and society.

Lately, I've been diving into the world of Generative AI and AI Tools because, let's face it, staying ahead of the curve is the name of the game. Keeping up with trends and innovations is super exciting to me, and I'm always on the lookout for new ways to push the envelope. I had the honour of speaking at the ASEAN-KOREA Innovative Culture Forum, where I delved into the transformative impact of AI on graphic design and marketing, sharing insights from my AI-driven projects and how they inspire new talents in Brunei, further highlighting AI's profound influence in shaping the future of creativity.
