Using Gen AI to create and design a brand

I used Aritifical Intelligence to create and design a brand. In this experiment, I worked with three AI tools; ChatGPT, Looka and Lexica, to create the visual identity of a made-up beverage brand based on the plant, ‘Butterfly Pea’. I chose this particular plant because I wanted to give AI a direction and I thought the visuals would be fun and colourful to work with. In this experiment, I aim to show how graphic designers can work collaboratively with AI tools and help with our creative process.

See below and in-depth detail of each AI tool and platform.

In conclusion, I learned that AI is an incredible tool for exploring different concepts quickly, but it still has a long way to go before it can truly be considered "creative" in the same way that humans are.

CHAT GPT

Chat GPT is a powerful AI bot that is capable of understanding human speech and producing in-depth writing. I asked ChatGPT to create the brand name of a beverage brand based on the plant, ‘Butterfly Pea’. I also asked for product line names, ingredients and even brand values.

LOOKA

Looka is a AI-powered graphic design platform that lets you design a brand identity from scratch, starting with your logo. I wanted to see if this app was capable for making a brand logo for this product. The platform was simple to use, although from my point of view - the designs were not original or unique.

LEXICA

Lexica is a search engine for AI-generated images and prompts. I used this platform to find imagery for the visual identity of the brand. The images I found were then used for packaging and for marketing collaterals. I found this platform to have very creative visuals and are great for testing ideas and concepts before execution.

THE RESULTS

Testing out marketing collaterals with imagery from Lexica.
